HeadStart Enrichment Course

What is meant by Course?
- Our HeadStart Courses are meant to help students get ready for their next school year by having them complete 30-40% of the syllabus covered during summer. At the conclusion of the course, students are given an exam to help them review what they have learned. Tutors will then offer additional advice to put them in the best possible position for the upcoming academic year. There are HeadStart classes available in English, Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

- Superior and Advanced Higher levels.
- Twenty hours spread over 5 weeks (recommended).
- 1-1 Virtual lessons
- Covers 30-40% of the required syllabus prior to the start of the new term in August.
- Give your ward a head starts for the upcoming academic year.
- The main subjects are offered English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
What makes the course Beneficial for the learners?
- Monitor Your Progress: Following the 20 hours of instruction, students will receive one more hour of tutoring to complete an at-home evaluation that will be assigned at the conclusion of the course.
- Simple to Manage: With only four hours of instruction each week, children will have plenty of vacation time and shouldn’t experience as much pressure starting a new school year.
- Assure Achievement: Students frequently bring up the challenge of moving from lower to Higher. We guarantee that students enrolled in our HeadStart courses are ready for the amount of work necessary to succeed at Higher.

Course Scheduling
- 20 hours of teaching + 1 hour end of course additional help
- 2×2 hours sessions per week
- Delivered over 5-week period

PHYSICS: Course Content
- Motions Equations and Graphs (3 to 4 Hours)
- Forces, Energy and Power (2 to 3 Hours)
- Collisions, Explosions and Impulse (3 to 4 Hours)
- Gravitation (2 to 3 Hours)
- Gravity and Mass (2 to 3 Hours)
- Special Relativity (2 to 3 Hours)
- The Expanding Universe (2 to 3 Hours)
- Revision (1-2 Hours)
- Discussion at home assessment (1 Hour)
- Additional topics can be added if a students has fully understand all the above topics.
CHEMISTRY: Course Content
- Nat 5 Chemistry Essential Skills (1 to 2 hours)
- Controlling the Rate (2 to 3hours)
- Trends in The Periodic Table (4 to 5hours)
- Bonding of Elements (4 to5 hours)
- Bonding of Compounds (3 to 4 hours)
- Revision (2-3 hours).
- Discussion of at-home assessment (1 hour)
- Additional topics can be added if the student has already covered and fully understands any of the above topics.
BIOLOGY: Course Content
- DNA Structure and Organisation (1-2 hours)
- Replication of DNA (3-4 hours) Gene Expression (3-4 hours)
- Differentiation in Multicellular Organisms (3-4 hours)
- Structure of the Genome (3-4 hours)
- Mutations (3-4 hour)
- Revision (1-2 hours)
- Discussion of at-home assessment (1 hour)
- Additional topics can be added if the student has already covered and fully understands any of the above topics.
ENGLISH: Course Content
- RUAE Work (4-5 hours)
- Critical Reading (6-7 hours)
- Folio Work (4-5 hours)
- Developing Literary Techniques (3-4 hours)
- Discussion of at-home assessment (1 hour)
- Students will also have the option of reading a set text over summer with the aim of writing 2 essays on the text near the end of the course.
- Students will practice a mixture of the above skills each week.
MATHS: Course Content
- Essential National 5 Skills (1-2 hours)
- The Straight Line (3-4 hours)
- Polynomials and Quadratics (3-4 hours)
- Functions (3-4 hours)
- Differentiation 1 (4-5 hours)
- Integration 1 (3-4 hours)
