For AS and A-level Accounting, the candidates need to appear in three papers as discussed below:
Paper 1
This 30-mark question paper includes multiple choice questions based on the AS level syllabus content.
- AS Level: 30%
- A Level: 15%
Paper 2
This 90-mark paper includes four structured questions.
- Question 1 is on “Financial Accounting” (30 marks)
- Question 2 and 3 are also on “Financial Accounting” (30 marks)
- Question 4 is on “Cost & Management Accounting” (30 marks)
- AS Level: 70%
- A Level: 35%
Paper 3
Paper 3 is a 150-mark paper that tests the extra content for the A Level, but it also calls for knowledge and comprehension of the syllabus from the AS Level. The paper is divided into two sections as follows:
- Section A (4 X 25 Marks): Four structured questions on “Financial Accounting”
- Section B (2 X 25 Marks): Two structured questions on “Cost & Management Accounting”
- A Level: 50%
