Mathematics is the quintessential requirement for science, research, and engineering. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most important subjects. IB (International Baccalaureate) gives due importance to Mathematics and requires its students to study it at all the stages, which are PYP, MYP, and DP.

Importance of IBDP Mathematics

Structure of IBDP Mathematics
In IB, at the DP stage, students are required to study Mathematcics at two different levels, which are the Higher Level and the Lower Level.
At Both These Levels, Students Are Assessed Via Two Different Types Of Assessments
- Internal Assessment -20%
- External Assessment -80%
The internal assessment requires the students to perform mathematical exploration and prepare a piece of written work after carefully investigating the subject matter.
Further, the students are required to choose between AA (Analysis and Approaches) and AI (Applications and Interpretations) at both the HL and SL level.
