IGCSE HISTORY

IMPORTANCE OF IGCSE HISTORY
The Cambridge IGCSE History allows the students to appreciate the past and develop judgments based on the historical events. It covers the period between the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century.
It enables the students to raise questions and use historical skills to provide logical historical explanations:
- The students learn the practical usage of historical evidence besides learning how to present clear and logical arguments
- The students understand their past and develop awareness about the international issues and inter-relationships
- IGCSE History allows the students to learn the various causes and consequences of the different historical events
Structure Of IGCSE HISTORY
The Cambridge Igcse History Students Are Required To Take Three Different Components:
- Paper 1: Written Paper based on Core Content and depth studies
- Paper 2: Written Paper based on one prescribed topic taken from core content
- Component 3: Coursework or Paper 4: Alternative to Coursework
The core content cf IGCSE History is further divided into two options:
- OPTION A :The Nineteenth Century: The Development Of Modern Nation States, 1848–1914
- OPTION B : The Twentieth Century: International Relations Since 1919
- the students are required to choose either of the two options mentioned above.
The depth studies of IGCSE History are based on seven different topics. Out of which, the students are required to choose and study at least one topic.
The Grading Rules
Some important points related to “IGCSE Grading”:
- The Cambridge IGCSE assigns grades to its students that range from “A – the highest” to “G – the lowest”
- If the performance of a student is not enough to even assign him or her a grade of "G", then such students are “ungraded”, which is reported on the statement of results
- The core students can achieve the highest grade of only “C” hence, the students who are willing to obtain grades "G" to "C" should opt for the core
- The Extended candidates can get grade “A” to “C”. The students who are willing to achieve the highest grades should opt for extended subject content
